Meet acclaimed singer Carmen Cuesta #PeopleOfWestchester #PeopleOfIrvington

What are the odds of meeting another Spaniard on your very first day at Julia Be Fee Sotheby’s International Realty Office in Irvington Main Street? Well, I was lucky enough to find not only a new client but a new friend.

“Carmen and her husband, the well known jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb, have lived in Irvington for many years. They have raised their children and based their production studio in their Irvington home from where  they produced many recordings of their own and other artists.
Carmen’s professional career began in  Madrid, as solo artist and studio singer. After meeting Chuck while he was on tour in Spain, they married and settled in New York City.
Although she devoted the following years to raising her two daughters, she kept composing and performing with artists such as Michael Franks, Grover Washington Jr., Jim Hall, Michael Brecker and many others.
Once her daughters left the nest, Carmen went back full time to composing, singing and recording.
To date she has released six CDs and is hard at work on her seventh.
Her CD “Mi Bossa Nova“, an album dedicated to the great Brazilian musician Antonio Carlos Jobim, was perhaps her most critically acclaimed, reaching the number one position on the jazz and Latin charts on iTunes and billboard, and was featured on NPR’s “Weekend Edition”.
Carmen works on her music each day at her Irvington home while she continues to enjoy family life.”
